Digital Movies provides you with the highest video
quality at an affordable price with the greatest viewing
flexibility.
Our Digital Movies
service will convert each of your videotapes into a high quality
digital Windows AVI video file.
These files can be viewed and edited on any Windows or Apple PC.
You give us your videotapes - we return to you a high speed
external hard drive filled with lasting memories (Maxtor external
drive pictured at right). We use
an external hard drive to store your videos as each hour of
digitized video is about 13 GB (giga-bytes).
When you receive the external hard drive from us, you simply connect
this drive to your PC. You will immediately be able to view these files using
Windows Media Player.
Best of all, these files can be imported into most popular video
editing software packages – which you can use to create a DVD, an
iPod video, or a YouTube movie.
How to do I get started?
Send us your videotapes.
That's it. We will ask that you place a white label on each tape with a
simple description of the videotape's contents.
We will use this information in naming each of the digital
video files.
What do I get?
Depending on the number of videotapes that you request to be
digitized, we will
- Provide you with for an high
speed external hard drive with state of the art high speed USB
and Firewire connections. The
size of the hard drive will depend on the number of videos.
- Convert each of your
videotapes into a high quality digital file using Microsoft's
DVD quality DV AVI format.
-
Name each of your files using
the description you provide.
- Return to you the
original videotapes, your new high speed external hard drive
with cables, and instructions for your use.
How long does it take?
Typically, one to two weeks, depending on the number of videotapes
involved.
What is the cost?
Our fee depends
upon the number of videotapes you provide to us - and the length of
each one. Each of your videotapes, whatever the length, will
be stored in its own digital video file.
The fee to
convert the first videotape, up to one hour in length,
is $295 - including the external hard drive.
Each additional hour (or part) of this first video is an additional
$100. Therefore, if the first video is between 1 and 2 hours
in length, the total fee is $395.00.
Each additional
videotape will incur a minimum fee of $100 for the first hour and an
additional $100 for each additional hour.
Discounts
available for projects requiring over 10 videotapes to be converted.
Can you create the DVD or iPod/YouTube video for me?
Yes. We charge an hourly rate for video
editing/production.
